About

Alexander Night

Hey, I’m Alexander, I started my brand 5 years ago in the council house I grew up in with no qualifications, no background and no connections. Everything you see today has been built with £5k saved from my apprenticeship in the NHS. Through the success of building my brand and reaching 20 countries I am now attending London College of Fashion to study bespoke tailoring as previously I would not have been able to attend any university.

My journey has been life changing, I was smoking cigarettes and weed at the age of 11, left school at 16 with no qualifications, destined to be a failure and could have ended up in prison, told by my own family I’m a failure and will amount to nothing… yet here I am. Building with my own two hands and no support, like it always has been. Me by myself navigating this world but I don’t want to be alone in my world, I want to share it with you and make you feel the way I do in my designs because…

Growing up I felt like my body was disgusting, I hated it, it was bony, I was called a skeleton but I was constantly in hospital, my health was never any good so neither was my weight. I went to a nutritionist at one point but that didn't help much either, I never really understood what was going on.

My health problems as a kid lead to me being really skinny and short, so nothing fit me. When I was 16 I had to wear clothes for 12/13 year olds which really rocked my confidence and self-esteem, I wasn't able to express myself and who I was for the longest time because of this. I couldn't wear clothes that I wanted to wear as it was all for younger people and clothes for my age just looked ridiculous. Luckily I grew taller later on but for it really lived with me even as I grew into myself and even in my late teens to early 20's I couldn't express myself until I started making my designs and trying out styling and makeup in my room.

As I started to research fashion I found that actually, most clothes today aren't made to fit any of us properly, they're standard sizes for everyone, and as you know every brand is different and can look better or worse on you.

This is what sparked my desire to learn bespoke tailoring at London College of Fashion, where I'm learning how to craft garments that are moulded to your individual body.

I grew up in East London, left school at 16 with no qualifications and started working, going through many different industries from construction, to hospitality, to healthcare. At 23 after finishing an apprenticeship in Organisational Development in the NHS I launched Alexander Night. After 4 years of building the brand I have now entered the University of the Arts London, London College of Fashion to study Bespoke Tailoring and learn traditional tailoring techniques passed down through Savile Row tailors.

Step into my world, where fashion becomes a journey of self-discovery and liberation.
